Mahilig ka ba kumain? Ako? Medyo. Anung hilig mong pagkain? Syempre naman ang gusto natin palagi ay yung masarap. We always want our food to have good flavor. We want our food to be delicious. And one way to make a food delicious is to put the right amount of salt. Pasensya na sa mga may edad na di na pwede kumain ng masasarap, at puro na lang walang lasa dahil sa iwas high blood, takot mamatay kaagad.

Well, they say that salt is bad for the health. Because it causes a lot of disease. Totoo nga naman diba. Well yes, it is bad pag nasobrahan. Alam naman natin na anu mang sobra at labis a msama. Pero may isang sobra na ok at dapat. I tell you that to be salty is good in another sense of the word. What do I mean? Nung nasa Spain ako nag-aaral, lagi kong naririnig ung katagang “eres muy salao”.

We are invited to be salts of the earth, to give life, give energy, give happiness, be grace to everyone. We are invited to be light of the world for others in time of gloom, in times of despair, in times of hardships. We are invited to show good deeds and glorify our heavenly Father.

But how to become a true salt and light of the earth? How to become a salty Christian?

The first reading gives us a tip. We must remove the attitude of oppression from our midst. Then, we should stop false accusation and stop uttering malicious speech on others. Then it says further, that we should bestow our bread to the hungry, that means, we should share what we should those who do not have. Then, we should satisfy the afflicted. RESPECT, SHARING, JUSTICE. These are the three formulas to remember. And in doing these, the prophet Isaiah tells us that the light shall rise for us in the darkness, and the gloom shall become for us like midday.

From the way saint Paul acted, the second reading suggests to us that our words should be inspired and based in the values of the Spirit, on the power of God.

And lastly, our Psalm gives us more tips on how to be salt and light: we should be an upright person, gracious, merciful and just. We must have a steadfast heart, a firm heart and a trusting heart to God. And we should also give lavishly to the poor if we want to be true salts and lights in the world.

So, my dear friends, let us ask our Lord this Sunday, to help us not to lose our saltiness, that we may serve as inspiration for others.

ANG SIDE EFFECT NG SOBRANG ALAT AY MASAMA AND IT TAKES YOU TO AFTERLIFE NA WALA SA ORAS. BUT THE SIDE EFFECT NG PAGIGING ISANG TAONG MAALAT AY OK SAPAGKAT MAPAAGA MAN ANG IYONG PAGPUNTA SA AFTERLIFE, PASOK KA NAMAN SA CATEGORIA NG MGA TAONG KARAPAT DAPAT NG EVERLASTING LIFE. :)

BE SALT AND LIGHT OF THE WORLD!
