My brothers and sisters in Christ, today's readings speak clearly about our calling and the urgent need for conversion.

The first reading from St. Paul's letter to the Romans begins with a reminder that we are all Called"called to be saints." Just as Paul was called to be an apostle, each of us has received a grace and a mission from Christ. This isn't just for priests or nuns; it's a universal call to live a life worthy of the Gospel and to spread the good news in our corner of the world.

However, the Gospel gives us a sobering contrast. When the crowds demanded a sign, Jesus spoke about a generation that would be Condemned. The people of Nineveh, who repented at the preaching of Jonah, and the Queen of the South, who sought the wisdom of Solomon, will stand in judgment against those who have a greater witness—Jesus Himself—but still refuse to believe. Their judgment is based on their stubborn demand for miracles instead of trusting the message. We are like that, aren't we? We constantly seek spectacular signs from God—a lottery win, a sudden cure, or a heavenly vision—when the greatest sign, the Gospel and the Resurrection of Jesus, is already before us!

The message is a call to Conversion. Like the people of Nineveh, we are called to repent and change our hearts, recognizing that Christ is greater than Jonah, greater than Solomon, and greater than any sign we could ever ask for. Let us heed our calling to be saints by embracing true conversion, turning away from our own wickedness, and walking by faith in the One who has already done all the signs we will ever need for our salvation. Amen.
