My friends, as we approach the weekend, the message from the Scriptures today is a challenging call to self-examination, revolving around three essential spiritual words: Trust, Truth, and Testimony.

First, Trust. The reading from Baruch is a profound prayer of repentance. The people acknowledge their sins—they "have not believed him, nor put our trust in him." They confess that all justice belongs to God. True repentance begins with this humble trust that God’s way, not our own self-centered inclination, is the only path to salvation. Do we truly trust God's wisdom over our own desires?

Second, Truth. Jesus’ warnings in the Gospel against Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum are stark. These towns heard the truth of the Kingdom and saw the mighty works, yet they refused to repent. To whom much is given, much is expected. We, who are blessed to hear the Word of God every day, have a greater responsibility than those who haven't. If we ignore the clear truth of the Gospel, our judgment will be severe.

Finally, Testimony. Jesus concludes by saying, "He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me." The Gospel message is our testimony—it is the life we live and the words we speak on Christ's behalf. Our faith is meant to be a compelling and consistent witness. If we have truly heard and embraced the message, our testimony should be evident in our actions, leading others to God.

Let us renew our Trust in God's justice and mercy, heed the Truth He has revealed to us, and commit to living a powerful Testimony in the world. Amen.
