Today's readings invite us into the profound depths of divine REVELATION, the intimacy of RELATIONSHIP with God, and the crucial nature of our RESPONSE to His call.

In the First Reading, we are transported to Mount Horeb, where Moses encounters God in the extraordinary vision of the burning bush. This is a moment of pure revelation. God reveals not just His presence, but His very being: "I AM WHO AM." He reveals His deep awareness of His people's suffering and His unwavering intent to save them. More than just a name, this revelation establishes a covenantal relationship – God as the liberator, Moses as His chosen instrument, and Israel as His beloved people. Moses' initial hesitant response – "Who am I?" – is met with God's reassuring presence: "I will be with you." This divine promise becomes the bedrock of their journey.

The Gospel from Matthew presents another, even more intimate, revelation. Jesus thanks the Father for revealing the mysteries of the Kingdom not to the "wise and the learned," but to the "little ones." This highlights that true revelation often bypasses intellectual pride and finds fertile ground in humble hearts. Jesus then speaks of the unique relationship between Himself and the Father: "no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." Here, Jesus is presented as the ultimate revealer of God. Our ability to truly know God hinges on our relationship with Jesus, and our humble response to His invitation to enter into this divine intimacy.

Both passages underscore that God is a God who reveals Himself. He desires a deep, personal relationship with us. The key then lies in our response: Do we, like Moses, listen to His call, even with trepidation, trusting in His presence? Do we, like the "little ones," approach Him with humility and an open heart, ready to receive the truths He wishes to reveal? May our lives be a willing response to God's continuous revelation and His constant invitation into a deeper relationship.
