Today's readings speak of a powerful and authentic faith, one that is not just in word, but in fulness of power and the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul praises the Thessalonians because their faith has gone out to the world. A Filipino's faith, like the first believers, shouldn't be hidden. It should be a source of light, full of good works, and an enduring hope in Christ. The Gospel, however, warns against being a hypocrite. It challenges us to a life of genuine fidelity to God, not just a show of religiosity. For us, this means living our faith not just inside the church walls, but in our homes, in our communities, and in how we treat others. It's about being authentic Catholics—practicing justice and mercy with a humble heart. Being a faithful Filipino means our faith is real and visible, transforming our lives from the inside out and making us instruments of God's love to the world.
