Mga kapatid, the life of St. Maximilian Kolbe, whose feast we celebrate today, perfectly embodies the three F's from our readings: Forgiveness, Faith, and Following. First, forgiveness. The Gospel tells us to forgive our brother not just seven times, but "seventy times seven." As a nation that has endured much suffering, we are called to be a people of forgiveness. Let us release the bitterness in our hearts, knowing that we have been forgiven an even greater debt by our heavenly Father. This act of forgiveness is not a sign of weakness, but of profound strength, a strength we see in the life of St. Maximilian Kolbe who offered his life for another. Second, faith. The Israelites had to trust God to part the waters of the Jordan. As Filipinos, we must also have a similar faith—a faith that can move mountains, a faith that can part the waters of our national problems. We must trust that God is always with us, even in our most difficult crossings. Third, following. The Israelites were to follow the Ark of the Covenant. We are called to follow Christ. This means not just believing in Him, but actively following His example, especially His example of forgiveness and love. Let us be a people who are not only known for our faith, but for our willingness to forgive and to follow the path of Christ.
